New cohort of Colorado postsecondary institutions receive the 2027-2030 designation

DENVER — In recognition of Career Development Month in November, the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) announced a third cohort of higher education institutions that earned the Career Connected Campus Designation for 2027-2030. The designation sets a high standard for how campuses implement practices that prepare students for employment aligned with their postsecondary credentials.

The postsecondary institutions receiving the Career Connected Campus Designation for 2027-2030 are:

  • Arapahoe Community College
  • University of Colorado, Colorado Springs

“Colorado’s economic future depends on a strong talent pipeline,” said Governor Jared Polis. “The institutions receiving the Career Connected Campus Designation are leading the way by connecting academic learning with career preparation and workforce needs. These institutions’ commitment to student success helps businesses find qualified talent and creates more opportunities for Coloradans to succeed.”

The designation prioritizes practical skills, professional development, and career readiness alongside academic learning. A Career Connected Campus is committed to empowering students with the knowledge, skills and resources needed to succeed in their chosen careers and make meaningful contributions to Colorado’s economy.

“The Career Connected Campus Designation highlights institutions that are leading the way in preparing students for success beyond graduation,” said CDHE Executive Director JB Holston. “These colleges and universities are embedding career readiness, work-based learning and employer engagement throughout the student experience. Their efforts help ensure Colorado learners are prepared to thrive in an evolving workforce while meeting the talent needs of employers across the state.”

Representing both two-year and four-year institutions serving urban, suburban and rural communities, the designated campuses exemplify a strong commitment to student success, workforce readiness and economic mobility.

The Career Connected Campus Designation recognizes institutions that demonstrate excellence in areas such as career advising, work-based learning opportunities, employer partnerships, and student outcomes. Through these efforts, designated campuses help students connect their education to meaningful career pathways and long-term success.
